Enzo (Kevin Costner) is different from all other dogs, he has a human-like mind and a love of race car driving. After racer Denny (Milo Ventimiglia) picks him out of a litter of puppies, Enzo learns quickly from his owner, gaining wisdom and a love of race car driving.

The loyal dog stays by his owner’s side and watches as their lives unfold. He sees Denny meeting the love of his life, watches the two get married, and gets to meet their child. All the while, Enzo enjoys the thrill of Denny’s races and learns all the techniques of driving fast, even when challenged by rainy conditions.

In his final days, though, Enzo begins to reflect and take stock of his life. Recounting the adventures of he and his human family, telling the tales of love, family, loyalty, and hope that brought them closer together.
