Full film details

Dominika Egorova (Jennifer Lawrence) is an exceptionally gifted ballerina who always aims high. When a serious injury ends her dreams in a split-second, Dominika and her mother find themselves in hard times with an uncertain future.

Desperate to earn a living to support her mother who has stood by her through thick and thin, Dominika finds herself being recruited by the Russian intelligence service and enrolling in Sparrow School. Here, extraordinary young people are trained in the art of seduction, and shown how to use their bodies and minds as weapons.

After a punishing and sadistic training process, Dominika emerges as the deadliest Sparrow Russia has ever produced, and so begins her new role as an assassin. But, there’s a price to pay for this new life and Dominika must come to terms with the woman she was and the one she has become.

When she is sent on a mission to seduce an American CIA officer called Nate Nash (Joel Edgerton), the pair begin an unconventional relationship which puts their careers and countries in jeopardy.

Adapted from the award-winning novel of the same name, Red Sparrow is a masterful crime thriller with many twists and turns. Academy Award Winner Jennifer Lawrence (Mother!, X-Men: Dark Phoenix) heads up the cast, which also includes Joel Edgerton (Black Mass, It Comes at Night) and Jeremy Irons (Justice League).
