Called uisge beatha in Gaelic, which means “water of life”, Scotch is enjoyed all around the world. Yet, how much do you know about its rich history in Scotland?

Learn about the creation of this fiery drink, as you’re taken on a tour across the stunning landscapes of Scotland, finding out about its history and meeting some of the people who create it.

Among the characters you’ll come across are Richard Paterson, the master blender who has such a keen sense of smell for scotch that his nose is insured for $2.5 million. You’ll also meet distiller and Jim McEwan, who draws on his 52 years of experience in the business to guide you through the process of creating this drink.

Andrew Peat (Tsunami Child) directs this journey that’ll open your eyes to the story of Scotch, from its beginnings as barley crops through to being bottled and sold, and the effects that it has had on the entirety of Scotland.
