A teenage girl discovers a mysterious box which makes all of her wishes come true, but each one comes at a deadly price.
For 17-year-old Clare (Joey King), high school is proving to be about as miserable as it can get. Local bully Darcie (Josephine Langford) seems to have it in for her, and then there’s her grades and parents to deal with too.
When her father (Ryan Phillippe) gifts her with a mysterious box, which apparently grants the owner wishes, she figures she has nothing to lose. Making a wish that will have bully Darcie regretting she was ever born, she’s amazed when it actually comes true.
Soon, Clare uses the box to gain wealth, popularity, and the boy of her dreams – life is suddenly a blast. Until the deaths begin. One by one, the ones she loves the most begin dying in horrible circumstances, and Clare must race against the clock to solve the puzzle – has she unleashed a demon?
