Forgotten Man - I Will Tell Festival
A young man named Carl struggles with homelessness on the streets of London, with no place to sleep, no money to eat, and a troubled past that haunts him. Followed by a post-screening Q&A.
Carl’s luck begins to turn when he discovers a theatre company based in East London that specifically works with homeless people. Using his natural talent for dramatics, Carl’s life seems to be on the up, until he meets and falls for a wealthy American…
The romance blossoms as Carl takes his new-found romance around the streets of his home city, but he struggles with the horrors of his history, and to find peace in the present without neglecting the past.
Forgotten Man is the debut film from writer and director Arran Shearing, and perfectly balances a gritty realism with wit and good humour, to create a film watching experience that feels refreshing.
Obi Abili stars as Carl, and has earned his acting chops in the likes of Delicious, Shakespeare’s Globe: Titus Andronicus, and Gambit. Eleanor McLoughlin stars opposite as Carl’s love interest, Meredith, in her first credited role.
Book tickets with Vue Cinemas to watch this attention-grabbing indie film, that stays with you long after the credits have rolled.
