When a teenage girl is found dead in the freezing, desolate landscape of Wind River, Wyoming, the horrific truth behind a quiet town begins to creep to the surface.
“Out here, you survive or you surrender.”
Wind River Indian Reservation is a harsh place to live. Located in a remote corner of the USA, its residents must become hardened to the wind, snow, and freezing temperatures… or risk becoming victims to the desolation.
When local trapper, Cory Lambert (Jeremy Renner) stumbles upon the body of a teenage girl, it’s clear that she wasn’t killed by Wind River’s violent weather. Sprawling barefoot upon the white, icy ground, the bloodstained snow suggests there was a brutal struggle.
FBI agent Jane Banner (Elizabeth Olsen) is assigned to the case, and braces herself against the hostile environment and bitterness of the people in the town. With few police officers to support her, she has no choice but to rely on Lambert for help.
As the two try to piece together what happened, they begin to uncover a dark and twisted nightmare of a horrible evil lurking in the quiet town.
Director Taylor Sheridan, who starred in Sons of Anarchy, won Best Director at Cannes Film Festival for Wind River. Renner (Avengers, Arrival) stars as the sultry, tight-lipped recluse and Olsen (Avengers, Captain America: Civil War) is the tough agent who’s hungry for justice.
