Full film details

Waking up confused and dazed, with a beaten face and no memory of the past few weeks, young writer and drug addict James Frey (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) discovers he’s on a plane destined for Minneapolis.

Arriving in a state, James is taken to a rehabilitation centre by his desperate brother (Charlie Hunnam), determined to put his sibling right.

James first insists he doesn’t belong there, but the centre’s doctor hopes to change his mind by revealing the severity of his case. For someone so young, he is in dire straits; he’s just one moment of weakness from immediate and fatal cardiac arrest.

Finally accepting help, James comes across a range of interesting characters, including the inspirational Leonard (Billy Bob Thornton) and gentle Lilly (Odessa Young), who teaches him that even in his decrepit existence, love can still exist. As he progresses through treatment, each of his newfound friends play vital roles in helping to heal his broken mind.

This powerful drama is based on the semi-fictional memoir of author and businessman James Frey and explores his incredible road to recovery from rock bottom. Directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson (Nowhere Boy, Fifty Shades of Grey), A Million Little Pieces stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Godzilla, Nocturnal Animals, Kick-Ass), Billy Bob Thornton (Armageddon, Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, The Judge), and Charlie Hunnam (King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, Pacific Rim, Sons of Anarchy).
