Full film details

Despite being total opposites, Johnno (Cristian Ortega) and Spanner (Lorn MacDonald) are best mates, living in a small town just outside of Edinburgh in the summer of 1994.

However, as the two Scots begin to grow up, life looks set to take them down different paths – Johnno’s family don’t approve of his friends or the area and are moving to a new town for a better life, leaving Spanner behind to try and find his place in the world.

The friends decide to end their time together on a high, though, as they hear about an illegal rave happening in the city. Planning one last weekend of excitement, the boys head to the outlawed party, which is set to be bigger than anything Scotland’s seen before.

As the lads party deep into the night, they embark on a journey of freedom, anarchy, and brushes with the law. This truly will be a night neither will forget…

Lorn MacDonald (Outlander) and up-and-coming talent Cristian Ortega star in this exciting, nostalgic, and captivating Scottish coming-of-age drama from director Brian Welsh (The Rack Pack, Black Mirror) and executive producer Steven Soderbergh (Ocean’s Eight, Magic Mike). It’s set to be one of the most influential films of the year.
