Full film details

Daniel (Bartosz Bielenia) has been locked up in a youth detention centre for second-degree murder. But finding religion has given him the inspiration for a new career path when he gets out: the priesthood.

With his release imminent, Daniel is told that his criminal record means it’s impossible for him to become a priest and he’s sent to work at a sawmill on the other side of Poland. Yet, Daniel won’t give up on his dream, and a nearby community grieving from a recent tragedy looks like the perfect opportunity.

Taking over from the parish’s elderly father for a little while, Daniel gets into his new role of preaching to the local congregation. Despite spreading the word about redemption and retribution, could Daniel’s brutal past find a way to catch up to him?

Bartosz Bielenia (I am Lying Now, The High Frontier) stars in Corpus Christi alongside Eliza Rycembel (Nina, #WszystkoGra) and Aleksandra Konieczna (Dark, Almost Night, A Cat with a Dog). Jan Komasa (Ultraviolet, Warsaw ‘44) directs this dark drama about a young criminal in search of a new life.
