As a young detective, Erin Bell (Nicole Kidman) became entangled in the Californian gang world as part of an undercover operation. But things turned ugly when she found herself in the middle of an FBI sting gone wrong.

Decades later, Erin is a broken woman troubled by the tragic events of her past. Things look set to change, though, when she receives word that the notorious gang leader, Silas (Toby Kebbell), who has haunted her for decades, has resurfaced.

Upon learning the news, Erin begins work on a plan to tackle her demons for a final chance at redemption. But to do so, she must throw herself into her dark and murky past…

As we leap between decades, we follow the events that ultimately led Erin and her partner Chris (Sebastian Stan) down a destructive path, and the devastating impact the gang is still having on her mind.
