Full film details

As far as business is concerned, Nat Dayan’s (Jonathan Pryce) kosher bakery in London has seen better days. In an attempt to breathe life into the failing store, he takes on a young, African apprentice named Ayyash (Jerome Holder).

A devout Muslim, Ayyash has a completely different faith to his Jewish boss, but somehow the two connect, and set about working hard to turn the bakery around. But, it’s only when the young apprentice pours his cannabis stash into the mix that sales begin to really pick up.

Before long, word of mouth spreads and the loaves, croissants, and buns begin flying off the shelves, with everyone from college slackers to OAP’s queueing round the block to get their daily fix.
But, the store’s new found glory has not gone unnoticed.

Disgruntled by falling sales in his local supermarket, an arrogant and bigoted businessman named Sam Cotton (Philip Davis) confronts Nat, insisting that he buy the shop out, and the renegade bakers must fight for their business as well as their beliefs.

John Goldschmidt directs this heart-warming comedy-drama, which features an impressive cast of both new and seasoned actors. Jonathan Pryce (Game of Thrones) stars, whilst stellar support includes Pauline Collins (Shirley Valentine) and Ian Hart (Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone).
