Full film details

To say Frances (Chloë Grace Moretz) is a small fish in a big pond would be an understatement –trying to build a life in New York City, her kind and caring personality doesn’t quite fit in with the gritty attitude of the Big Apple.

True to her ‘girl next door’ roots, when she notices a handbag that’s been forgotten on the Subway, Frances feels obligated to return it to its owner. That’s how she meets Greta (Isabelle Huppert).

A widowed piano teacher originally from France, Greta is warm, welcoming, and wonderfully eccentric – all the things Frances has been missing since the recent death of her mother. Despite their age gap, the women form a bond and begin to spend plenty of time together.

When visiting Greta’s home, Frances discovers a cupboard full of handbags that are exact duplicates of the one she found on the train. She realises something isn’t quite right and tries to distance herself, breaking off their friendship abruptly.

But by then it’s too late. Frances has already taken the bait, and Greta isn’t ready to let go…

Directed by Oscar-winning screenwriter Neil Jordan (The Crying Game, Byzantium), Greta is led by a powerful female cast, including Chloë Grace Moretz (The Miseducation of Cameron Post), Isabelle Huppert (Elle), Maika Monroe (Mark Felt: The Man Who Brought Down The White House), and Zawe Ashton (Nocturnal Animals).
