Full film details

Amadeus (Nick Nolte) has been suffering from increasing forgetfulness for quite some time, but only at his wife’s funeral is the true state of his condition brought to light.

Struggling to come to terms with the deterioration of his father, his son Nick (Matt Dillon) decides the Alzheimer’s-stricken widower can no longer live by himself.

But things are strained between Nick and his wife, Sarah (Emily Mortimer), and the dependent presence of the retiree only makes things worse. But as time goes by, Amadeus spends more time with his doting granddaughter, Tilda (Sophia Lane Nolte). Growing close, she discovers her grandfather’s love of Venice, the place where he met his wife years ago.

Determined to replace the troubled Amadeus’ pain and forgetfulness with laughter and love, Tilda decides to stop at nothing to help her grandfather travel to the city he loves.

Til Schweiger returns to direct this English language remake of his dramatic 2014 German film of the same name. This time calling on the talents of Emily Mortimer (Mary Poppins Returns, Hugo, Lars and the Real Girl), Matt Dillon (The House That Jack Built, Crash, There’s Something About Mary), and Nick Nolte (The Padre, The Ridiculous 6, Warrior).
