A critically acclaimed, feel-good indie film, starring Nick Offerman, Kiersey Clemons, and Toni Collette.

Full film details

Frank (Nick Offerman) is one of Brooklyn’s original hipsters – a record store owner and music enthusiast, he rocks a beard and a plaid shirt like he invented the signature NYC look. But while the world may have caught up with Frank, he’s failed to move forward himself. And now he’s in danger of getting left behind.

Unable to afford the city’s rising rent prices, and with his daughter, Sam (Kiersey Clemons), set to travel across the country to start college in September, it’s time for widower Frank to let go of his music industry aspirations and embrace a bit of adult responsibility.

In a final bid for father-daughter fun, he convinces Sam to record a song with him and impulsively posts it online without her knowledge. And then the unbelievable happens – it becomes the indie hit of the summer.

Overjoyed to finally get the break he’s dreamed of for decades, Frank is keen to see where their success could take them. But there’s just one problem – Sam doesn’t want to be in a band. And she especially doesn’t want to be in a band with her dad.

Directed by Brett Haley (The Hero), this indie drama-comedy has received praise across the festival circuit, nominated for several awards, including the Audience Award at Edinburgh International Film Festival. Nick Offerman (The Founder) stars, alongside Kiersey Clemons (Flatliners), Toni Collette (Hereditary), Ted Danson (The Good Place), and Sasha Lane (The Miseducation of Cameron Post).
