Full film details

The year is 1977 and punk is all the rage in London and beyond. Teenage lad-about-town Henry (Alex Sharp) is in the mood to party and so he and his friends embark on a mission to find some action, away from the stuffy Jubilee celebrations that have got the masses in a bunting wrapped Royal frenzy.

In a bid to impress local punk goddess Boadicea, they decide to gatecrash a local party believing they’ll score some major cool points. On arrival, they are greeted by a bevvy of impossibly beautiful girls, who are all decked out in abstract clothing with personalities to match.

Assuming they must be American, the boys let loose, ignoring the girl’s bizarre behaviour and strange conversations. As the night turns into day, Henry falls head over heels in love with the enigmatic Zan (Elle Fanning) and the feeling seems to be mutual, despite the fact she is way out of his league.

Like all things that seem too good to be true, all is not as it seems with Zan and her friends. Can Henry sustain a genuine relationship with an alien, or is he barking up the wrong galaxy?

How to Talk to Girls at Parties is a hilarious adaptation of a short story of the same name by Neil Gaiman. Newcomer Alex Sharp (To the Bone) is joined by an A-List cast, which includes Nicole Kidman (Aquaman), Elle Fanning (A Rainy Day in New York) and Matt Lucas (Little Britain).
