Full film details

Krisha (Krisha Fairchild) chose to sever ties with her entire family, including her son. With no explanation for her sudden, heart-wrenching departure, she turns up to her sister’s Thanksgiving family meal 10 years later.

With all the extended family gathered to celebrate the holiday, she’s welcomed back to the fold, reconnecting with her sister, mother, son, and all manner of other relatives. Throwing herself into the celebrations, Krisha’s attempt to bond and heal broken ties quickly dissolves as the family reveals how painful her disappearance has been for them over the decade of absence.

Krisha is a shocking and emotional gut-punch of a film, showing how loss, distance and self-abuse can affect more than just one person, deeply and permanently.

Winner of the Grand Jury Prize at the South by Southwest film festival, Krisha stars Krisha Fairchild (The Killing of John Lennon) alongside Alex Dobrenko (Arlo and Julie), and is directed and written by Trey Edward Shults in his first feature length production.
