Full film details

Moving from place to place around the picturesque San Francisco Bay area, Jimmie (Jimmie Fails) and his best friend Mont (Jonathan Majors) are rarely apart. Used to squatting, Jimmie is currently living with Mont’s grandfather (Danny Glover), crashing on the floor next to his friend.

While desperate to find some stability, Jimmie discovers his old family home, built by his own grandfather, is between owners. Taking the opportunity to revisit a familiar part of his life, he heads to the empty building with Mont.

Exploring the old home, from its vast bedrooms and tall ceilings to the grand organ room, Jimmie calls back to the time spent here, the only time in his life when he was truly at home.

Deciding to stick around for as long as it remains vacant, the inseparable friends plan a future in the towering house, fantasising about the parties they could throw, and the audiences playwright Mont could entertain.

But Jimmie knows deep down that his childhood paradise will never truly be home, as his continuing quest for happiness and love takes him further than he ever imagined.

Premiering at the Sundance Film Festival, where it picked up the award for ‘Best Directing’, this powerful drama stars newcomer Jimmie Fails, whose story is also the inspiration for the film. Jonathan Majors (Captive State, White Boy Rick, Hostiles) and Danny Glover (The Old Man and the Gun, Lethal Weapon, 2012) also star.
