Metal Heart
Alternative, metal-loving Emma and the more popular and mainstream Chantal are twin sisters who happen to be different in just about every way. But as the warring pair spend their last summer together before going their separate ways, could they finally find some common ground? Hugh O’Conor makes his feature-length directorial debut with this Irish coming-of-age comedy starring Jordanne Jones, Leah McNamara, and Moe Dunford.
Twin sisters Emma (Jordanne Jones) and Chantal (Leah McNamara) are very different. While Emma is a self-conscious and withdrawn metalhead, her sister, Chantel, is confident and popular.
So, when the pair are left home alone for the summer, they vow to steer well clear of each other. However, the girls’ plan soon falls flat when Chantal suffers an injury, putting her out of action, and Emma fills in for her at work, hanging out with her sister’s popular friends.
As the summer progresses, the sisters’ lives are turned 360 degrees, as Chantal’s injury keeps her housebound and Emma exhibits new-found confidence. She even entertains the idea of a summer romance with next door neighbour Dan (Moe Dunford) – to the dismay of best friend Gary (Seán Doyle) who’s had eyes for Emma for some time.
Beginning to understand each other’s struggles, and learning to live as the other does, it begins to look like these bickering sisters might actually get along.
In just her second outing, Jordanne Jones (I Used to Live Here) stars alongside Leah McNamara (Vikings, Nails, Cellar Door), and Moe Dunford (Vikings, Patrick’s Day, The Dig) in this Irish, indie, coming-of-age comedy brought to us by actor Hugh O’Conor in his feature-length directorial debut.
