Full film details

Carly Ryan (Anne Winters) is a pretty typical teenager. She doesn’t really like her family. Her dad, Brent (Nicolas Cage) vocally disapproves of her boyfriend. Her mum, Kendall (Selma Blair), is embarrassingly out of touch. And her younger brother, Josh (Zackary Arthur), is nothing but an annoying brat.

Carly doesn’t think things can get any worse when she’s forced to cancel a date with her boyfriend to spend time with her grandparents. Carly is about to be proved very, very wrong.

When unexpected static starts to blaze out of every TV and radio in the town, the parents start to behave very strangely – even for them. Before long, every parent is on a murderous rampage, including Brent and Kendall, leaving Carly to desperately try to save herself and Josh from the very people who should try to protect her.

Mom and Dad is a dark horror-comedy with teeth. With clever social commentary at its heart, the jokes hit hard and the bloody horror even harder. Mom and Dad is directed and written by Brian Taylor, whose previous work includes 2006’s Crank and 2011’s Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance.

Anne Winters (The Tribe) gives a great leading performance as grouchy teen Carly, while Nicolas Cage (Kick-Ass, Southern Fury) gives an outrageously and wonderfully over the top performance as Brent, alongside co-star Selma Blair (Ordinary World) as Kendall, who in turn provides a fantastic psychotic performance.
