Lee Gates (George Clooney) has everything going for him. He’s popular, charming and charismatic making him the perfect host for his hugely popular and successful TV show: Money Monster.

All about earning big bucks on the stock market, he uses his show to offer his band of loyal viewers tips and advice for lucrative returns on their investments.

It’s just another day on the set of Money Monster until a former viewer, Kyle Budwell (Jack O’Connell), turns up on stage brandishing a gun. Furious for losing all his money on bad tip given by Gates in previous episode, Budwell is keen to seek revenge on the so-called Wizard of Wall Street.

Desperate for answers, and in a bid to expose Gates, he holds him and the show’s crew, including Gates’ trusted producer, Patty Fenn (Julia Roberts), hostage demanding that the crew continue filming.

It’s up to Fenn and Gates to find a way to keep everyone safe and alive during the hostage situation. But armed man on set isn’t the only problem they have to deal with… They need to untangle themselves from the mass of Wall Street’s huge money lies, and uncover the truth.

This riveting thriller is brought to the big screen by director Jodie Foster, in her fourth feature film.

George Clooney (Tomorrowland) stars as charismatic TV personality, Lee Gates, opposite Julia Roberts (Secret in Their Eyes) who stars as producer Patty Fenn with Jack O’Connell (Unbroken) as Kyle Budwell.
