Full film details

Jim (Harris Dickinson) lives in a small rural town in Essex and constantly fantasises about what it would be like to start a new life in the big city of London.

Desperate for fame and fortune, he heads to Soho to start afresh. But the big move doesn’t go quite as he expected when he ends up being mugged and robbed of all his money on the first night.

Forced to sleep rough, he ends up sharing a cardboard box bed with a homeless child who suggests he meet up with an unusual group of art-obsessed escorts known as The Raconteurs.

After meeting them, they deem him suitable to join their group, which specialises in looking after upper-class clients. But Jim finds it much more difficult than he anticipated.

He discovers that he is suffering from a rare condition called Stendhal Syndrome, which causes him to suddenly faint and hallucinate when presented with beautiful pieces of art.

While the condition could put his new-found occupation at risk, it also presents opportunities to capitalise on his illness – but will Jim dare reach for them?

A beautiful drama from acclaimed writer-director Steve Mclean (Postcards from America). Postcards from London features an incredible line-up including rising star Harris Dickinson (Beach Rats), Jonah Hauer-King (Little Women) and Alessandro Cimadamore (L’onore e il rispetto).
