Full film details

Science Fair is a National Geographic Documentary following nine high school students from different corners of the globe who are all competing in The International Science and Engineering Fair. The prize is huge, with the winner of the overall best project set to receive $75,000.

With such high stakes, the tensions are high – and rivalries, teenage hormones, and pressing parents make the challenge even more difficult…

Amongst the participants are a talented teenager from a deprived Brazilian town with a revolutionary solution for treating the Zika virus, a German aeronautics enthusiast who has reimagined a single-wing aircraft design, and a Muslim student from South Dakota with an innovative concept for studying the human brain.

There can only be one student named ISEF champion. Who will it be?

Science Fair has received huge critical acclaim and was the recipient of the Festival Favourite Award at the 2018 Sundance Festival.

The film explores the extraordinary stories of a diverse bunch of highly intelligent young individuals who are desperate to fulfil their dreams and improve the world through science.

The award-winning and Emmy-nominated documentary is written and directed by Cristina Costantini (The Naked Truth: Death by Fentanyl) and Darren Foster (Borderland).
