Full film details

For Susan Carpenter (Naomi Watts), life as a single mum in a sleepy suburban town is anything but conventional. Working as a waitress alongside her outspoken friend Sheila (Sarah Silverman) at the local diner, she also has two young boys to occupy her time.

Youngest son Peter is a happy-go-lucky 8-year-old, whilst older son Henry is really quite something else. Aged just 11, he is way ahead of his years and is a source of inspiration for both his mouther, younger brother and those around him.

When Henry detects his classmate and next-door-neighbour, Christina (Maddie Ziegler), is trying to mask a dark family secret, some deft detective work leads to a shockingly sad discovery. Christina is being abused by her stepfather, who just so happens to be the local Police Commissioner; a seemingly untouchable being.

But, ever-resourceful Henry hatches an ingenious but highly dangerous plan in order to free his friend and put a stop to the evil on his doorstep.

The Book of Henry is directed by Colin Trevorrow (Jurassic World, Star Wars: Episode IX) and stars Naomi Watts (Twin Peaks), Jaeden Lieberher (Midnight Special) and Dean Norris (Breaking Bad). Sitting somewhere between a family drama and a nerve-shredding thriller, it offers a fresh approach to storytelling and dares to be different.
