Full film details

In the Miami projects, Moses Al Shabaz (Marchánt Davis) lives with his wife, Venus (Danielle Brooks). But beyond his home life, he’s a Hebrew preacher with ideas of revolution that will end the “accidental dominance of white people”.

When FBI agent Kendra Glack (Anna Kendrick) discovers Moses’ work, she uncovers an opportunity to make him look like a terrorist – and earn her kudos with her boss on account of her investigative work. With Moses and Venus facing eviction, they get some cash to help. But, unbeknownst to them, this money is part of the FBI’s plan.

As Kendra aims to make a national threat out of the poverty-stricken preacher, who has a handful of followers and believes he can summon dinosaurs with an airhorn if he finds himself in need, she learns it’s easier to make someone look like a criminal than it is to actually catch one.

Marchánt Davis makes his feature-length film debut in The Day Shall Come, starring alongside Anna Kendrick (A Simple Favour, Pitch Perfect 3) and Danielle Brooks (Orange is the New Black, The Angry Birds Movie). Chris Morris (Veep, Four Lions, Brass Eye) directs this hilarious-yet-dark tale that raises questions about US homeland security.
