The Edge Of Seventeen

The Edge Of Seventeen
Socially awkward Nadine thinks high school can’t get any worse – until her best friend starts dating her brother in this Golden Globe nominated film.
High school is a nightmare for seventeen-year-old Nadine (Hailee Steinfeld). She doesn’t fit in with any particular ‘crowd’ and her lack of social skills means she is constantly red-faced and sinking down the popularity scale.
To top it all off, when compared to her perfect older brother, Darian (Blake Jenner), Nadine’s flaws seem even more pronounced.
With only the support of her best friend Krista (Haley Lu Richardson) to help her through the trenches of awkwardness, Nadine can’t wait to leave her teenage years behind her. Junior year couldn’t possibly get any worse.
Until it does.
When Krista and Darian start dating, Nadine loses her only friend and finds herself more of an outcast than ever before.
Unable to rely on her disengaged mother (Kyra Sedgwick) for help, Nadine struggles to figure out how to cope with the inevitable discomfort and injustice of teenage life.
But with the help of her cynical history teacher (Woody Harrelson), she begins to learn about the complexities of becoming an adult and discovers life doesn’t always turn out the way you think it will – sometimes it’s even better.
Directed by Kelly Fremon (Post Grad), Oscar nominee Steinfeld (True Grit) delivers a witty and honesty performance in this coming-of-age comedy about a girl who faces the worst of high school head on, and comes out on top.
