Full film details

Wren (Charlize Theron) manages the work of an international charity organisation, which aims to help the world’s most disadvantaged countries. Through her work, she meets voluntary relief aid doctor Miguel Leon (Javier Bardem), who uses his medical expertise to treat the neediest.

When the two meet, they quickly embark on a passionate, burning love affair, which inspires and pushes them to carry on with their aid work, despite the civil unrest brewing throughout the country.
Over time, both the doctor and the director must face difficult – and often violent – situations through their work, which forces them to contemplate the ethics of their industry.

The Last Face is a thought-provoking drama directed by Academy Award winning actor Sean Penn (Into the Wild). Slow burning and intense, Charlize Theron (Mad Max: Fury Road) and Javier Bardem (Skyfall) give career defining performances, which will leave audiences at the edges of their seats.
