As the first snow of winter falls, a twisted serial killer gets to work, leaving a chilling clue beside each victim, forcing detective Harry Hole to decipher the sickening thoughts and riddles of a maniac.
When a woman disappears one snowy evening, the only clue to her whereabouts is her pink scarf, which has been wrapped around the neck of a snowman. But as the snow thaws, her decapitated body is discovered. There’s a killer at large, and he seems to be playing a sick and twisted game.
The local crime squad’s lead detective, Harry Hole (Michael Fassbender), is deployed to hunt down the elusive killer, but he can’t do it alone. Enlisting the help of stellar recruit, Katrine Bratt (Rebecca Ferguson), the pair embark upon their most dangerous mission to date, and must utilise every skill they’ve learned to hunt down the killer known as ‘The Snowman.’
With the clock ticking, they must reopen decades-old cases if they are to solve the mystery and prevent further women from suffering the cruellest of deaths.
