The fight

On 15th July, Britain’s Chris Eubank Jr. will return to the ring for his first IBO Super-Middleweight title defence against three-time World Champion Arthur Abraham. Broadcast live from The SSE Arena, Wembley, the fight promises to deliver some Rocky Balboa-style “hurtin’ bombs”, as Eubank Jr. has no intention of letting this one go to the judges.

“I’m going in there to knock him out cold,” Eubank Jr. told Boxing News.

The son of the legendary Chris Eubank will certainly have a job on his hands, with Abraham only ever losing once inside the distance. That defeat came in 2013 against Robert Stieglitz, who managed to punch his face so much his eye decided to swallow itself, prompting the ring doctor to end the fight. But Abraham got his revenge two years later by winning the rematch.

The fighters

With 24 wins and 19 KOs, Eubank Jr. is well on his way to equalling his father’s record (45 wins and 23 KOs). And the IBO Super-Middleweight Champion will be hoping his quick feet come in handy when he attempts to increase his tally.

“I can dance around him, peppering shots from all angles and I’m going to show just how lighting fast my fists can be,” said Eubank Jr.

But with 46 wins and 30 KOs, the 37-year-old American-born German is the more experienced of the two. Abraham will be highest profile opponent Eubank Jr. has faced since fellow Briton Billy Joe Saunders.

Why see it at Vue?

With youth and speed on one side and experience on the other, the fight has all the makings of a classic ‘young v old’ contest, like Rocky v Dixon in Rocky Balboa. Watch all of the action at Vue in high-definition quality and feel every punch as the surround sound reverberates through your seat. It’ll be exactly like watching a film, except the fighters are actually getting hurt.

Vue will be screening the entire programme, including Welsh star Lee Selby's IBF Featherweight title defence against Argentina's Jonathan Barros, and the IBF Intercontinental Championship matchup between Kid Galahad and Dennis Ceylan.
