The origins of the demonic doll are revealed in this chilling prequel, as Annabelle returns to terrorise a young orphan and her friends.
A dollmaker and his wife are still haunted by the tragic death of their only child, Annabelle.
But things begin to get creepy when they contact Annabelle from beyond the grave, and receive an offer they can’t refuse – the chance to transfer their daughters spirit into the body of a doll, thus keeping a part of her alive forever.
The doll is locked away in Annabelle’s old bedroom, which is kept just as it was 20 years ago, at the time of her tragic passing.
Meanwhile, the couple decide to open their home to a nun and a group of young girls from a defunct orphanage, in order to make ends meet.
However, the new guests have not escaped the attention of Annabelle, and especially a young disabled girl named Janice, whose curious nature leads her towards danger.
The Conjuring spin-off, Annabelle, slayed the box office back in 2014, raking in over £200m across the globe and ushering in a new horror icon.
Annabelle: Creation is directed by David F. Sandberg, who is the man behind the Lights Out (2016) phenomenon, and stars Miranda Otto (Homeland), Stephanie Sigman (Spectre) and Anthony LaPaglia (Holding the Man).
