Bridget Jones's Baby
strong language, sex references
She’s parted ways from Mark, she’s single and in her forties; what else could possibly go wrong for Bridget at this point? Well, she’s going to need some bigger pants…
The fortysomething Bridget Jones (Renée Zellweger) had it all worked out: a comfortable job as a top news producer and married to the wonderful Mark Darcy (Colin Firth).
However, her ‘happily ever after’ is short-lived. Following a break-up with her beloved Mark, Bridget finds herself living the single life once again.
But she’s been here before – Bridget knows how to be single better than any other, and plans to surround herself with friends both old and new, while focusing on her career.
Feeling in control of her life once again and coping with the break-up, what could possibly go wrong?
A baby. That’s what.
But whose is it? Could it belong to long-time lover, Mark, or newcomer, Jack Qwant (Patrick Dempsey)? Even Bridget’s not sure…
In fact, neither the cast nor the audience can be certain, with three separate endings being filmed and the true version only set to be revealed at the premiere.
Zellweger (Monsters vs. Aliens) and Firth (The King's Speech) reprise their roles as Bridget Jones and Mark Darcy, while the film welcomes back a host of actors from the original 2001 adaptation of Helen Fielding’s novel, including Jim Broadbent (Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince) as Bridget’s Dad. Grey’s Anatomy’s Patrick Dempsey also joins the cast as love interest Jack Qwant.
