Why we’re excited: The first film was a major hit with families, and now the ridiculously star-studded cast has grown even bigger. Matthew McConaughey, Scarlett Johansson, Reese Witherspoon and Taron Egerton all return, while newcomers include Bono, Pharrell Williams, Halsey and Letitia Wright.
Why you’ll love it: Who doesn’t want to see all those A-list stars singing as animated animals?
Death on the NileIn a nutshell: Iconic moustached detective investigates murder on a boat.
Why we’re excited: Kenneth Branagh is reprising his role as the legendary Hercule Poirot, and he’s assembled another talent-packed cast. Gal Gadot, Armie Hammer, Emma Mackey and Letitia Wright are all on board. It’s just a shame one of them has to die.
Why you’ll love it: We all love a murder mystery, don’t we? Expect plenty of twists and some truly luscious facial hair.
The BatmanIn a nutshell: Robert Pattinson is vengeance.
Why we’re excited: Oh, it’s only one of the most anticipated films of the year… It’s a brand-new, darker take on the DC superhero and the cast is frankly outrageous. Robert Pattinson is Batman, Zoë Kravitz is Catwoman, Paul Dano is The Riddler, Colin Farrell is The Penguin, Andy Serkis is Alfred, Jeffrey Wright is Commissioner Gordon and we’re absolutely buzzing.
Why you’ll love it: New batsuit. New batgadgets. New batmobile. It’s also directed by Matt Reeves (War for the Planet of the Apes), so expect things to get epic.
Downton Abbey: A New EraIn a nutshell: The Crawleys are going to France!
Why we’re excited: The beloved TV series returns for a second big screen outing, and this time they’re going abroad. Watch out, Southern France, the British are coming…
Why you’ll love it: Fan of the TV series? Say no more.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2In a nutshell: Dr. Robotnik’s back… and he’s brought some knuckles.
Why we’re excited: Catching a second glimpse of the fastest hedgehog in existence is reason enough to be excited, but this time, he’ll also be joined by his trusty sidekick, Tails. Knuckles, on the other hand, doesn’t look so friendly…
Why you’ll love it: This one looks even more action-packed than the first. Plus Jim Carrey is having the time of his life (again) as an evil genius.
Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of DumbledoreIn a nutshell: Team Dumbledore v Team Grindelwald – it’s about to kick off.
Why we’re excited: Isn’t it always exciting to return to the Wizarding World? Plus we’ll get to meet a whole new batch of weird and wonderful creatures as Newt and the gang embark on a globetrotting adventure.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of MadnessIn a nutshell: He’s still messing about with that Time Stone.
Why we’re excited: It’s always a pleasure to spend time with Benedict Cumberbatch’s Sorcerer Supreme. And now that the multiverse has been unleashed, we’re expecting things to get properly weird.
Why you’ll love it: The mind-bending visuals and spells will transport you way beyond this realm. Oh, and Wanda’s in it!
Top Gun: MaverickIn a nutshell: Tom Cruise welcomes you to his fighter jet masterclass.
Why we’re excited: It’s been almost four decades (!) since we felt the need for speed, so it’s about time we got back in the air. And by the way, they’re flying those planes for real…
Why you’ll love it: Intense, mid-air action sequences with real stunts? Seriously, what’s not to love?
Jurassic World: DominionIn a nutshell: Dinosaurs roam the Earth after being released by silly humans.
Why we’re excited: It’s a whole new world, and we can’t wait to get lost in it. Even if we’re not at the top of the food chain anymore... Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard return, as do franchise originals Jeff Goldblum, Sam Neil and Laura Dern.
Why you’ll love it: It’s got dinosaurs in it.
LightyearIn a nutshell: The origin story of Buzz Lightyear. The ‘real-life’ man. Not the toy.
Why we’re excited: We’ll see Buzz like we’ve never seen him before in what looks like a truly original sci-fi animation. We’ve always wondered what infinity and beyond looked like.
Why you’ll love it: You don’t even need to be a Toy Story fan. This epic space adventure can stand alone in its own right.
Thor: Love and ThunderIn a nutshell: Natalie Portman can hold the hammer now.
Why we’re excited: It’s always a wild ride with Thor. But things are about to get even spicier now that Jane Foster can wield the mighty Mjolnir. That’s right, there’s a new God of Thunder in town…

Minions: The Rise of GruIn a nutshell: Despicable child dreams of becoming a supervillain – with the help of funny yellow blobs.
Why we’re excited: Steve Carrell radiates pure joy in the role of Gru and, quite frankly, we just can’t get enough of his loyal helpers. This origin story has been a long time coming.
Why you’ll love it: The latest instalment of this beloved animated franchise is a must-watch for families and people who love yellow things.
Black AdamIn a nutshell: Dwayne Johnson has superpowers now. As if he wasn’t already powerful enough…
Why we’re excited: So yeah, it’s The Rock’s first superhero outing – and he’s actually playing a villain! This Shazam! spin-off is bound to be a juicy addition to the DC Universe.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (Part One)In a nutshell: Yes,that super inventive animation has a sequel!
Why we’re excited: The first instalment was one of the most original superhero films we’ve ever seen. And it had a Spider-Pig in it! We can’t wait to see which other characters pop up when Miles Morales dips back into the multiverse.
Why you’ll love it: The truly unique animation style, combined with some proper Spidey action will make this one of the most exciting films of the year.
Black Panther: Wakanda ForeverIn a nutshell: Wakanda is officially open for business! But keep your hands off the vibranium.
Why we’re excited: After the cultural phenomenon that was the first film, we can’t wait to explore Wakanda in greater detail. And a few more highly agile action sequences wouldn’t go amiss, either.
Why you’ll love it: New suits? New tech? New enemies? This is basically Christmas for Marvel fans.
