By car

If you're travelling from the North, leave the M6 on junction 43 and follow signs for Carlisle (Tesco supermarket will be on your right).

Follow Warwick Road for about two miles until the road ends. Keep in the left lane and follow around to the left through two sets of lights. Turn left onto Botchergate and you'll find Vue Carlisle about 200 metres on the right hand side.

If you're travelling from the South, leave the M6 at junction 42 and follow the signs to Carlisle. Stay on this road for three miles until you see Village Cinema on your left hand side. There are two carparks opposite the venue, both a two minute walk away.

You'll find accessible parking at the rear of the venue, accessed via Crown street.

By public transport

By train: Vue Carlisle is a two minute walk from Carlisle train station. When you exit the station, turn right and you'll find the venue 200 metres down the road on the right.

By bus: Inner city buses run every 10 minutes, with the main bus stop located directly outside the venue. Carlise bus station is a five minute walk from the venue, which runs hourly services from Newcastle (the 685), Wetheral (the 75), and the 300/301 from Workington and Whitehaven.

Location access

Located on the main street of Botchergate, Vue Carlise is located directly opposite the bus stop travelling south and approximately 50 metres away from the bus stop travelling north. The nearest train station is less than 200 metres away and there's accessible parking available at the rear of the venue with four spaces for blue badge holders.

Venue and screen access

Entrance to the venue is through three sets of double glass doors at the front; one set is automatic, one set opens both ways and one set is outward opening only. The screens are on two levels – screens one through to four are on the ground floor and five, six, seven and eight can be accessed via a lift found in the main foyer. There's step-free access to the wheelchair spaces and adjoining seats, and accessible toilets can be found near screen four and in both foyers.

Purchasing tickets

There are hearing loops at all of the counters, where food, drinks and tickets can be purchased, and pre-purchased tickets can be collected. There is also a lowered counter available.

You can also purchase or collect tickets at the automatic ticket machines located in the venue foyer. If you'd like to purchase tickets using the CEA card, you can do so in person at the venue, online or by calling customer services on 0345 308 4620 (local rates apply).

Accessible screenings

Vue Carlisle shows subtitled (ST) films every week. Film times are updated each Wednesday morning for the coming Friday. You can book subtitled screenings here.

Some of our screens are equipped with infrared technology to provide hearing assistance. Simply let a member of our staff know when you're purchasing your tickets and they'll organise a headsets or neckloop for you. We recommend arriving a little earlier than you normally would so we can get you set up in time for the film.

Autism-friendly screenings

In our autism-friendly screenings, the lights are left on low, the sound is turned down and trailers and adverts aren't played. When you book tickets for an autism-friendly screening, you’ll be asked to choose allocated seats but we do encourage guests to move around during the screening and make a bit of noise.
